New Stories Coming!

Dec 03, 2008 by Mig

It has been quite a while since my last contribution. I really have no excuse other than laziness. With that in mind, I will start posting new stories this week. I've got a couple of good Campfire's coming, including a Christmas story that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Theme

Oct 30, 2008 by Mig

It has been brought to my attention that some of our readers are having trouble viewing the blog. I have been told that the pictures and stories are skewed and in some cases the text is not visible unless selected. If anyone is having trouble please let me know so I can troubleshoot it. Email me at: nymig@cox.net and let me know what browser you are using and what the blog looks like.

We Need More Stories

Oct 28, 2008 by Mig

Due to a mini vacation in Vegas and some long hours at work, the Pushover has been negligent in adding more stories. Because of this, he has been listed as an MIA and will remain there until more stories are added. Check back soon, as Cracking Up will have some story updates shortly.

Administrative Decision

Oct 21, 2008 by Mig

As out of character as it may seem, the Pushover has made an administrative decision regarding comment counting. As you will notice, I have reset the comment counts to their original configuration. After much thought about the pros and cons of using comment counts as a yardstick for hero status, the following rules will now apply (who thought it would be this complicated!):

  • Because of the compelling argument provided by Aunt Kelly, support personnel will not ascend to hero status. I have carefully selected the heroes for our site and each provides a necessary skill for our mission.
  • While support staff are encouraged to contribute as much as possible to the cause, they will not be punished for meager efforts. (Consider yourself lucky Thinker!)
  • Unfortunately, by being chosen as a hero, you do have an obligation to contribute. A lack of participation by any hero will result in banishment to the MIA page for as long as I deem necessary. Make no mistake, this is an attempt to embarrass you in front of your peers. With that being said, as much as it pains me, "Town Crier, Town Crier, where are you?"!
  • Finally, NOBODY has personally selected their alias on this site, and this rule will remain in effect. With that said, our esteemed support staff colleague "Trouble" will now be known as the "Mixmaster Masseuse".

I realize I've been a little slow in getting another story up on the blog. I've been a little swamped at work lately, but have no fear. I have more stories already started and will get another one finished shortly.

Rethinking Comment Counts

Oct 17, 2008 by Mig

Due to some complaints I've received pertaining to our new comment count feature and its impact on the hero/support/mia status, and the fact that I am the Pushover, I am currently reconsidering my position on the issue. When I come to a decision that I think all can agree on, I will notify you. Until then, get off my back!

Comment Counts

Oct 11, 2008 by Mig

It was brought to my attention that we have some contributors that have been more active in their support of this website than others. While I appreciate any and all contributions and comments, I feel it only fair to reward those that go the extra mile to contribute to the cause. With this in mind I have instituted the following changes.

  1. You will notice, on the bottom right hand portion of the blog pages, a running count of the amount of comments left by our members. This is not meant to embarrass anyone for their meager effort, although it helps, but rather to keep you up to date of the committment by some.
  2. Many of you, ok really only one of you, has asked what it takes to become a member of the heroes. I have decided to grant this accomplishment based on a reward basis. The more you contribute, the greater the chance you have to become a member of the heroes. Only the top 4 comment contributors will be awarded a hero status.
  3. Starting October 13th, all comment counts will be reset to 0. Each Friday thereafter, I will take the top four contributors and grant them hero status for the week. All others, not members of the Villains page, will then become Support Staff and will correspondingly be added to the staff page.
  4. For those of you who end the week with a 0 comment count, I have a special treat for you. You will be added to the newly created MIA page and will suffer the wrath and ridicule from the contributing members of the site!
  5. Continued presence on the MIA page will draw the ire of the webmaster and may result in you being moved to the Villain page.

Site Re-Design

Oct 05, 2008 by Mig

As you can see, I've updated the look of the site recently. After seeing the site displayed on various computers, other than my own, I thought it was a little dark and hard to read. So, for better readability purposes, I decided to use a different theme. For consistency purposes, I've also updated the blog theme to match. Hopefully, it makes your experience better. Feel free to let me know what you think!

Welcome

This is the story of a middle aged Mom and Dad doing their best to remain sane while raising two teenage children. The stories you read here are true, and the names have not been changed to protect the innocent. If we're going insane, we're going to take everyone down with us!

The purpose of this site is to keep everyone who loves us updated on our life and to vent any and all frustrations inflicted upon us by our children.

Thank You

This is is official relaunch of the restyled website. Kudos to http://templates.arcsin.se for the baseline template.
